| Step 2. Buying the camera. |
Now that you have made your list of features that you want in a camera, go to your closest Tall's Camera store or visit the product sections of this website and start looking at the different models. The type of store you go to will denote how much help you get. We suggest going to go to a store who specializes in cameras. Talk with the sales staff and ask questions. Bring with you the list of features you want. You will learn more about cameras and have a better buying experience if you ask questions and talk specifically about what you want. The sales person will also have a better idea of where to direct you if you tell them the features you like. Play with the cameras. Take a couple pictures. The sales person will show you the features, and how to use it.

| Accessories. Cameras have what you need to take pictures in the box. However, there are accessories which will make your picture taking experiece more full and maybe a little easier. |
| The memory cards included with cameras are very small and usually are not sufficient to do much with. Cards range in price and can hold up to hundreds of pictures. You will want an additional one for your camera. |

| Extra batteries make life easier. You will not always worry about whether your batteries are fully charged or not. Plus there is nothing worse than having your camera leave you in the dark. It will always happen at the moment you want it the most. |

| Cameras do not like to be dropped or to get dirty. A case will help protect your camera while you are out and about. Some cameras offer a case and a extended warrenty as a package. This can be helpful, because you may get a good price for both. |

| Added Lenses are available for some cameras. These lenses will either add telephoto or wideangle capabilities to the camera. Usually they are a 2 part system. There is a conversion adapter and then the lens. The adapter extends the added lens past where the built in lens sticks out. That way you have normal focusing and zooming with the added lens. |

| Extended warranties are another layer of protection. Cameras typically have 1 year warranty out of the box. Extended warrenties add usually 2 more years on top, which give you 3 years total. Warrenties are different from service plans. Service plans are usually more expensive, but if you break your camera, it may be covered. Warranties, are usually for manufacturer's parts and labor. |
